The Body Shop : Vitamin E Eye Cream // REVIEW

Hey hey wonderful people! I hope you're all well,

Today's review is on an oldie but a goldie! Now whilst I'm only the ripe age of 15 (not for too long!), I do enjoy using eye creams. Fortunately, I don't experience puffiness, but because I'm currently battling through my second last year of school (I'm aware that I'm doing it a lot easier than most out there), thus not getting a whole lot of sleep, an eye cream proves to be handy to banish the pesky circles beneath my eyes.

I've used a product from The Body Shop's Vitamin E line before and fell in love with it, so I decided to give their eye cream a go. Packed with vitamin E, shea butter and rose hip oil, this lovely, gentle eye cream helps to hydrate, smoothen and reduce the appearance of fine lines around your eye area.

I either massage this around my eyes in the morning after a later night, or before bed after a long day to soothe sore eyes.

Leave your opinion of this product in the comments below if you've used it, or if you have an eye cream you can recommend to me, let me know also!

Lots of love, until next time,

Remington : Keratin Therapy straightener // REVIEW

Hello fellow blog trotters...what an intro. I hope you're well!

As promised in my post where I reviewed my two favourite heat defence sprays (which you can find here), today I bring to you a review on a hair straightener that has wiggled its way into my heart...okay that sounded better in my head.

If you're a devoted reader of my blog, you might have gathered how unmanageable my natural hair is. It's not a fun task to do my hair in the morning, and because its so hard to deal with and because I tend to sleep in and end up rushing my morning routine, I don't spare a lot of time to work with my hair. Also, unless I'm working with a hair style that requires curling my hair, I always straighten my hair before styling. Therefore, I need a hair straightener that is going to be kinder to my hair, and faster to use. Luckily, I found just the straightener, and I'm rather excited to share it with you!

Remington's Keratin Therapy hair straightener sorts out my unruly locks within less than ten minutes - about half the time I spend using my GHD. It's also half the price of the infamous GHD's, selling for around $100 (I was incredibly lucky to score this baby for only $20 in a clearance sale at Myer).

Keratin seems to be in almost everything big in hair care at the moment. That's because it's one of the most effective ingredients to create uber healthy, strong hair. Luckily, my hair is rather partial to this wonder ingredient, and therefore thrives with any product containing it. This straightener is no exception. The straightener's ceramic coated plates are infused with keratin micro conditioners which are released into each strand with every use.

To save us both the time of length descriptions of this straightener, here is a list of features from their site:

  • Up to 57% more protection from damage and breakage*
(The straightener has a sensor in between the plates that detects moisture levels in your hair, meaning it can change it's settings to protect your hair even further, unlike other hair straighteners where it would fry your locks)

  • Keratin Protective Technology = Advanced Keratin Ceramic coating and exclusive Heat Protection Sensor
  • Heat Protection Sensor on/off button with indicator icon
  • Integrated digital display, 5 settings 160°C - 230°C
  • Fast 15 seconds heat up – beeps when ready
  • Longer length 110mm plates
  • Floating plate for even pressure on the hair during styling
  • Temperature key lock function
  • Turbo boost function
  • Automatic safety shut off
  • Plate lock for storage
  • Luxury heat resistant storage pouch
  • Worldwide voltage
  • Swivel cord

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Have you used this straightener before? Do you have one that is equally as good that you can recommend to me? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time, lots of love,

Midi Skirts // STYLE TALK #4

Hello lovely humans! I hope you're well,

Midi skirts have well and truly done their rounds in the world of fashion as quite the statement piece. They've appeared in plenty of fashion shows also (both on the runway and in the audience) and on many blogs. A brave item to wear, and when personally styled they can be super fun and flattering.

I've chosen three midi skirts to style today, all very different within themselves. My key tip when styling midi skirts is to keep the top half form fitting to prevent a swamping effect, and to add accessories that are suited to your liking to allow your personal style to shine through.

Futuristic neutrals

Inspired by an outfit I spotted at London Fashion Week, this pairing of a lengthy leather skirt and a grey crop with an interesting cut out is a perfect way of dressing up effortlessly. To ensure no attention was drawn away from that intense skirt, I've kept it simple with some strappy grey heels. To keep things casual yet classy, I picked out a black fedora and a pair of fun shades.

Mythical antics
When I was a little girl, my favourite outfit was my huge tulle ballet skirt paired with a hot pink singlet and a pair of ballet shoes. This costume, believe it or not, can be reinvented to suit my current age. Whilst I may no longer have the constant urge to slip out of whatever restricting outfit I was wearing and into my ballerina one, it's still fun to dress things up with a big, fun skirt.

This outfit is inspired by the beautiful Zoella.

A skirt that is more appropriate than my ballet skirt for outerwear nowadays is this gorgeous number from House of Fraser. Depending on your mood, it can be paired with this black fitted halter neck crop, or an off-the-shoulder stripy top. To further this magical vibe, I've picked out this felt floppy hat, some stroppy black heels to keep things nice and clean, and a pair of circular lensed sunnies.

Grey area
Yet another LFW inspiration, this pairing of an A-line midi skirt and black crop is a perfect way to keep it comfy yet classy. The pointed flats and sunglasses keep it sophisticated, whilst the leather backpack and burgundy fedora bring a fun, cheery element to the look.

Which outfit was your favourite? How do you style your midi skirts?
Until next time, lots of love,

I want MOR! // BRAND FOCUS

Aloha friends!

I'm a sucker for all things cute and smelly (in the good way, that is). MOR is a brand that not only doesn't test on animals, but is also filled with luxurious scents and creamy lotions - all perfect little christmas gifts with their cute packaging and divine fragrances -, and I thought it was necessary for me to show you a couple of my favs from them in today's (shockingly titled) addition of Brand Focus.

Beginning with this gorgeous body butter in the scent of "Cassis Noir" (you can find it here).
It's priced rather fairly at $16.75 for a 50g tub in adorable packaging.

"A divine Body Butter, rich with Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Avocado Oil, is pure indulgence for dry skin"

It's a true body butter with a beautiful thick and creamy formulation that dries to a beautiful fragrance  of cinnamon, bulgaria rose, black current and a hint of star jasmine. It's scent is just the right amount of potency and lasts a fair while.

Next up is this lovely blood orange (ugh so pretentious ;) ) soapette. Whilst I might not exactly agree on this said scent, it is rather lovely.

"Each Soapette is made from a rich vegetable base, enhanced with Shea Butter and Vitamin E to create a decadent lather that leaves skin brilliantly refreshed."

And that is nothing but the truth. It does lather up rather nicely, and your skin is left feeling squeaky clean after use. The fragrance unfortunately doesn't linger on the skin, but it does make your bathroom smell pretty great. Heck, just leaving it sitting out on the sink fills the room of this lovely, light harmony of "soft summer floral notes of Jasmine, Rose and Lily of the Valley".

I think I may have found a new favourite soap!

Can we please just take a moment to admire that tube?

I love hand creams...well...who doesn't really? I especially love this hand cream in the fragrance of "Black Cherry Plum". It has a rather lovely harmony of red currant, tangerine zest, blonde woods and (as expected) cherry and plum. Priced at $24.95 for a 100ml tube, I've found this product to meet the ethos of "you get what you pay for".

It has a light yet creamy formulation, meaning that you don't have to put up with the dreaded "oh-no-I-have-sticky-hands-and-therefore-cannot-pick-up-any-item-for-the-next-five-minutes-or-so".

A beautiful cream, perfect for a gift to yourself or someone else.

To wrap up this post, I shall finish with these three treats.

Each provide a perfect hydration and a wonderful aroma, and are priced at $12.75 per 50ml tube.

Alike the soapette from before,  I can't agree with their proclaimed perfume. Still, it is a rather lovely scent with the same notes from the soapette.

This is most definitely my favourite scent from all of the products I've talked about today. I'm a sucker for gardenia, and this met all my expectations with a beautiful marriage of gardenia, juniper berry, angelica, ylang ylang, sandalwood and a very light touch of vanilla.

Now finally to wrap up this post with the final hand cream. "Lychee Flower", just as lovely as the scents from before, contains notes of sweet lychee, berries, powdery florals and a hint of green forest woods. Perfect for my lovers of girly girl fragrances.

That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed this addition addendum to my Brand Focus series! If you've tried a product from MOR, or have another line or product you think I'd like from my descriptions above, I'd love to know! So let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, lots of love,

Tresemme Keratin Smooth and John Freida Frizz Ease // R E V I E W

*I'd like to begin with apologising for the horrible-grammar infested piece of writing you're about to read. I'm supposed to have two pieces of work done for school I haven't started on but wanted to get this post up...my priorities need sorting out but hey, blogging is soothing for my soul.

Bonjour lovely people of the internet! I hope you're well,

I'm absolutely horrible to my hair. I straighten my hair every day for school (with an incredible hair straightener I plan on reviewing very soon, keep an eye out for it! If it's up, click here) and can't leave the house without heat treating it. This results in split ends, dry hair and a very sad and angry self. My hair is just much too puffy and frizzy to do anything other than that. Even when I straighten my hair it's still slightly frizzy by the end of the day. I've been on the hunt for a good heat protection spray for ages now, and have finally found two strong competitors.

I do believe that this is probably the winner out of the two. Not only does it beat the frizz, it also smells awesome, and leaves my hair feeling uber soft. The product distribution is okay, but like most hair spray products, I will put a bit in my hands and run it through my hair that way, beginning at the ends.

It's also rather inexpensive, lasts for months (if you're an everyday user like myself) and can be found easily in all stores.

I became a little hesitant with John Freida products after hearing that most don't get the bang for their buck. I seem to have luckily scored here however, and have discovered yet another heat spray that is wonderful to my untameable waves. Just as the name suggests, the John Freida Frizz Ease protecting spray does, in fact, ease the frizz. Whilst it doesn't leave my hair feeling as soft as the Tresemme one does, it does still smoothen and nourish my sad, sad hair.

All in all, the heat spray I'm most happy with is the Tresemme Keratin Therapy, as my hair is left feeling a lot softer, and more protected as apposed to my hair after using the John Freida Friss Ease.

Tell me your thoughts below! Have you used either of these products? Do you have a heat protecting spray you can recommend?

Lots of love, until next time,

Sunsilk Damaged Hair Reconstruction // BATTLE OF THE WASHES #1

Hello lovely humans! I hope you're well,

Today I bring to you a new series that will hopefully last as long as this blog lives. It's none other than a battle of hair washes! After each time I've used a new hair wash long enough for me to form an opinion of it, I will add it into this series, and will keep track of each top hair product via a leaderboard. Let me know in the comments below on your thoughts!

Today I will discuss Sunsilk's "Damaged Hair Reconstruction" shampoo and conditioner.

It's official, I have found my all time favourite drug store hair wash!

I was introduced to this by the weirdo chick you might have seen in my vlogs a fair while back (And if you have a good eye, you could possibly even spot these two beauties sitting in a plastic bag).

My hair is incredibly dry at the tips, and can get rather oily at the roots after two or so days of not washing it. When looking for a good shampoo and conditioner, I tend to gravitate towards those that claim to be for damaged hair, or ones that target dry ends and oily roots.

This pair works in harmony to give me soft and squeaky clean locks over the course of the days leading to my next wash. Depending on my laziness, I might also use some argon oil or some sort on the ends after washing, which I find leaves my hair in perfect condition until my roots get too oily to go anymore days without a clean.

It has your conventional hair wash scent so nothing fancy in the fragrance department. The shampoo lathers up quite well, and the conditioner can be used sparingly, making it out to be rather economical.

LEADERBOARD (woah..how impressive)
1.
SUNSILK: Damaged hair reconstruction

Until next time, lots of love,

♡ weekly wishes #8 beauty ♡

weekly wishes #8 beauty

$6.71 - bankfashion.co.uk

I know I'm a little late on this trend, but better late then never, right?

sephora.com

I love the Naked2 palette, but I must admit that the Naked3 palette might be even better for me. The selection of hues are perfect for me and definitely very versatile.

sephora.com

I'm still yet to give a Marc Jacobs beauty product a go, and I've heard the formulation of their lipsticks are amazing. This colour is gorgeous too.

beauty.com

I swatched this in stores and fell in love. It does have glitter that is on the chunky side, but I'm alright with that.

beauty.com

I've heard of nothing but raves with Kevyn Aucoin's brow things.

$37 - johnlewis.com

The only thing holding me back from buying the Porefessional is its price. Please feel free to convince me to buy it below in the comments.
Okay, so again, I've heard quite a few raves surrounding this product, but I've also read a couple of bad things. And I need you to let me know what you're opinions are on Revlon's Lash Potion mascara.

Lots of love,

Weekly Wishes #7

Weekly Wishes #7

Hello lovelies! This week I've chosen a few awesome pieces (majority are cat themed) that I've been loving! So continue reading to see what I've been eyeing off.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics gift sets kit
nordstrom.com

Starting off with a sweet little product, from Bobbi Brown's Limited Edition Breast Cancer awareness line, is this mini blush in 'French Pink'. Darling product, great quality and $10 from this purchase goes towards the Breast Cancer Foundation. What more of an incentive to buy from their line?
Price: $45 at Nordstrom.

Charlotte Russe nail polish
charlotterusse.com

Not going to lie. I've been wanting this for ages now. A gorgeous, fun, glizty varnish to glam up any nail combo. Buy from charlotterusse.com for only $3.

Scarve
$82 - 9straatjesonline.com

Yes, I know. I already have one. But a girl can dream of having a huge collection of circle scarves... (She types as she sits in a room located in Vietnam where it is 35 degrees outside, and her aircon is on 18 so she can feel like she is joining in on the Autumn spirit) I HAD MY SALTED CARAMEL LATTE ALRIGHT? I KIND OF CELEBRATED!
Anyway, you can buy this scarf from 9straatjesonline.com from I believe the brand "Tony Cohen". It's a little pricey at €60/$82 but it's defininetly some eye candy for you all.

Charlotte Russe cat headband
charlotterusse.com

Another little goodie from Charlotte Russe - and the beginning of a trend amongst this post: this adorable cat ear headpiece! If you don't already know, I freaking love cats. They are the single most coolest animal in the world, big or small. A cool little piece for those who aren't up for going all out for halloween, too!
$5 from charlotterusee.com

BaubleBar triangle ring
baublebar.com

From Missglamorazzi's line at BaubleBar is where you'll find this crazy gorgeous ring. Again, its cat themed. $26 of absolute cuteness. Thank you Ingrid!

Monki dress
$55 - monki.com

A super fun thing to layer with in the cooler months, and an staple closet item that is making a return in a slightly altered form - a dungaree dress! $55 from monki.com

Black sweater
$57 - batoko.com

The words on the jumper says it all. An expensive way to show it, but its cute.

Crew neck shirt
$37 - newlook.com

This jumper from NewLook is gorgeous. Only $37 too!

NYX colorful eyeshadow
target.com

Lovely palette of natural colours. Perfect for most seasons and for those who like a natural eye. Nyx's Natural Shadow palette is only $7.49 from Target.

And of course there is always that one item that doesn't get included so here is the picture of this gorgeous bag:
And here is the link on polyvore: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/thing?context_id=101278236&context_type=collection&id=94870990

I'm not going to look at the price for a reason. I've always liked Celine bags, and thats something for me because I'm not usually a fan of the larger bags. I particularly like plain black ones, they go great with many outfits, and look super stylish.

That's it for today everyone! I hoped you enjoyed this weekly wish post! See you in my next one, lots of love,
